Previously, the inclusive descendant, which is the node that
for_each_shadow_including_inclusive_descendant was called on, would not
have it's shadow root traversed if it had one.
This is because the shadow root traversal was in the `for` loop, which
begins with the node's first child. The fix here is to move the shadow
root traversal outside of the loop, and check if the current node is an
element instead.
The DOM spec gets overridden by both the SVG2 and MathML core specs in
that unknown elements should not inherit DOM::Element, but
SVG::SVGElement and MathML::MathMLElement respectively.
And here's the wild part: instead of cloning WPT tests, import the
relevant WPT tests that this fixes into our own test suite.
This works by adding a small Ladybird-specific callback in
resources/testharnessreport.js (which is what that file is meant for!)
Note that these run as text tests, and so they must signal the runner
when they are done. Tests using the "usual" WPT harness should just
work, but tests that do something more freestyle will need manual
signaling if they are to be imported.
I've also increased the test timeout here from 30 to 60 seconds,
to accommodate the larger WPT-style tests.
This test caused some flakiness due to the about:blank load it triggers.
It causes headless-browser to receive a load event for about:blank. If
we have moved onto the next test before that event arrived, that test
would ultimately time out, as its own load will have been dropped while
the about:blank load is still ongoing.
This patch makes us wait for that iframe load event before completing
the test.
We may want to consider never sending subframe load events to the UI
process as well. We really only care about top-level page loads in the
receivers of that event.
For example, in the following abbreviated test HTML:

We would have to craft the expectation file to include the "some text"
segment, usually with some leading whitespace. This is a bit annoying,
and makes it difficult to manually craft expectation files.
So instead of comparing the expectation against the entire DOM inner
text, we now send the inner text of just the <pre> element containing
the test output when we invoke `internals.signalTextTestIsDone`.
This patch implements `Range::getClientRects` and
`Range::getBoundingClientRect`. Since the rects returned by invoking
getClientRects can be accessed without adding them to the Selection,
`ViewportPaintable::recompute_selection_states` has been updated to
accept a Range as a parameter, rather than acquiring it through the
Document's Selection.
With this change, the following tests now pass:
- wpt[css/cssom-view/range-bounding-client-rect-with-nested-text.html]
- wpt[css/cssom-view/DOMRectList.html]
Note: The test
"css/cssom-view/range-bounding-client-rect-with-display-contents.html"
still fails due to an issue with Element::getClientRects, which will
be addressed in a future commit.
Previously, there was a bug in the specification that would cause an
assertion failure, due to the abort event being fired before all
dependent signals were aborted.
Otherwise, it looks a bit awkward where the cursor position does not
update while the selection is elsewhere.
Note that this requires passing along the raw selection positions from
`set the selection range` to the elements. Otherwise, consider what will
happen if we set the selection start and end to the same value. By going
through the API accessor, we hit the case where the start and end are
the same value, and return the document cursor position. This would mean
the cursor position would not be updated.
The test changes here more closely match what Firefox produces now. It
is not a 100% match; the `select event fired` test case isn't right. The
problem is the event fires for the input element, but we most recently
focused the textarea element. Thus, when we retrieve the selection from
the input element, we return the document's cursor position, which is
actually in the textarea element. The fix will ultimately be to fully
implement the following:

That is, each input / textarea element should separately track its own
text cursor position.
For both types of elements, `.selectionStart`, `.selectionEnd`,
`.selectionDirection`, `.setSelectionRange()`, `.select()` and the
`select` event are now implemented.
We now follow the rules from the spec more closely, along with an
unspecified quirk for when the offsetParent is a non-positioned body
element. (Spec bug linked in a comment.)
This fixes a whole bunch of css-flexbox tests on WPT, which already had
correct layout, but the reported metrics from JS API were wrong.
We now ensure that `Node::is_character_data()` returns true for all
nodes of type character data.
Previously, calling `Node::length()` on `CDataSection` or
`ProcessingInstruction` nodes would return an incorrect value.
Previously, when creating a HTML element with
`document.createElementNS()` we would convert the given local name to
lowercase before deciding which element type to return. We now no
longer perform this lower case conversion, so if an uppercase local
name is provided, an element of type `HTMLUnknownElement` will be
returned. This aligns our implementation with the specification.
Previously, if a document had any element with a name attribute that
was set to the empty string, then `document.getElementsByName("")` and
`element.getElementsByName("")` would return a collection including
those elements.
Previously, if a document had an element whose id was the empty string,
then `document.getElementById("")` and `element.getElementById("")`
would return that element.
We had a const and non-const version of this function, with slightly
different behavior (oops!)
This patch consolidates the implementations and keeps only the correct
behavior in there.
