86e2348b74 Kernel+LibC: Don't crash upon traversal of large directories. 2019-03-20 18:31:12 +01:00

4aa0ab4e08 Kernel: Fix race between accept() and connect().
We had a bug where an accepted socket would appear to be EOF/disconnected
on the accepting side until the connecting side had called attach_fd().

Fix this by adding a new SocketRole::Connecting state.

1b16a29044 Kernel+Userland: Implement fchmod() syscall and use it to improve /bin/cp.
/bin/cp will now copy the permission bits from source to destination. :^)

e421c10735 More compat work towards porting vim.
It now builds and runs in the small-featureset configuration. :^)

beda478821 Kernel: Make syscalls that take a buffer size use ssize_t instead of size_t.
Dealing with the unsigned overflow propagation here just seems unreasonably
error prone. Let's limit ourselves to 2GB buffer sizes instead.

2cfcbdc735 AK: Add Retained<T>, like RetainPtr, but never null.
Also use some Clang attribute wizardry to get a warning for use-after-move.

d5f515cf6c Kernel: Give each FileDescriptor a chance to co-open sockets.
Track how many fds are open for a socket's Accepted and Connected roles.
This allows fork() to clone a socket fd without a subsequent close() walking
all over the parent process's fd.

640360e958 Move WindowServer to userspace.
This is a monster patch that required changing a whole bunch of things.
There are performance and stability issues all over the place, but it works.
Pretty cool, I have to admit :^)

799177feda Kernel: Make BochsVGADevice a BlockDevice and support mmapping it.
Currently you can only mmap the entire framebuffer.
Using this when starting up the WindowServer gets us yet another step
closer towards it moving into userspace. :^)

c4fce9b3f9 Make stat() work on device files again.
FileDescriptor will now keep a pointer to the original inode even after
opening it resolves to a character device.

Fixed up /bin/ls to display major and minor device numbers instead of size
for device files.

b4e478aa50 Deallocate PTY's when they close.
This required a fair bit of plumbing. The CharacterDevice::close() virtual
will now be closed by ~FileDescriptor(), allowing device implementations to
do custom cleanup at that point.

One big problem remains: if the master PTY is closed before the slave PTY,
we go into crashy land.

027d26cd5d Add a String::format() and use that in place of ksprintf() in the Kernel.
You're never gonna be right 100% of the time when guessing how much buffer
space you need. This avoids having to make that type of decision in a bunch
of cases. :^)

8bb18fdc56 Kernel: Get rid of Unix namespace.
This is no longer needed as the Kernel can stand on its own legs now
and there won't be any conflict with host system data types.
